The 12 Best Online Ordering Systems for Restaurants in 2026 (Canada & USA)

This guide compares 12 options available to restaurants in Canada and the USA, with each vendor's own published prices.

Disclosure: this guide is published by AIOrders, and we list ourselves first. We've tried to be fair. Every competitor price comes from that company's public pricing page, and we say plainly who each tool is better for. Prices are as of Oct 2026; check each pricing page before you buy.

Canada vs USA: what changes

How to choose

  1. Count your online orders. Under a few hundred dollars a month, a free tool usually wins. As volume grows, flat-fee tools generally beat percentage fees, because the fee doesn't rise with every order. Our cost guide shows the math.
  2. Decide if you need a POS. If yes, Toast, Square, TouchBistro or Clover bundles may fit. If not, choose an ordering and marketing platform that works with your POS.
  3. Look past "commission-free." Check processing fees, setup fees, guest fees and add-ons. More in commission-free online ordering explained.
  4. Decide who does the marketing. Software alone doesn't bring customers back. Some platforms, AIOrders included, run the campaigns for you.

Methodology

We compared tools that restaurant owners in Canada and the USA commonly search for, including "X alternative" and "X pricing" searches. For each, we opened the vendor's public pricing page on Oct 6, 2026 and recorded the monthly price, per-order fees and free-plan availability. Where a price wasn't visible, we wrote "varies, see their pricing page" instead of guessing. No vendor paid to be included.
