Toast and Clover both sell restaurant POS systems with hardware, payments and online ordering. Toast is restaurant-first; Clover (from Fiserv) serves many business types and packages restaurant hardware and software into monthly bundles. Here is how their 2026 published pricing compares, who each is better for, and a commission-free alternative for online orders.
Toast says online ordering has no commissions and that delivery from your site costs a flat fee per order (Toast Online Ordering, as of Oct 2026). Digital Storefront packages are quoted, so the monthly price varies; see their pricing page.
Restaurant plan prices were not shown on Clover's Canadian pricing page when we checked; varies, see their pricing page (clover.com/ca/pricing, as of Oct 2026).
The AIOrders model is simple: a flat-monthly plan with 0% order fees (see pricing; the entry plan adds a per-order fee), instead of a percentage of each order (aiorders.io, as of Oct 2026). On that plan you keep every dollar of every direct order, minus payment processing.

"Not listed" means we did not find it on the public pricing page when we checked. Ask the vendor if it matters to you.
On typed-in card payments (common for phone orders), Clover's 3.5% + 10¢ is notably higher than its in-person rate, so phone-heavy restaurants should run the numbers.
Clover's US restaurant rates are 2.3% + 10¢ in person and 3.5% + 10¢ typed in (Clover, as of Oct 2026). Square's are 2.6% + 15¢ in person and 3.3% + 30¢ online on Square Free, falling to 2.4% + 15¢ and 2.9% + 30¢ on Premium (Square, as of Oct 2026). Square has no 36-month bundle; Clover's monthly price includes hardware. See Toast vs Square too.
Toast is better for full-service restaurants and groups that want a restaurant-only system with deep table service, KDS, payroll and team tools.
Clover is better for quick-service and smaller full-service restaurants that want predictable monthly bundles, published card rates and access to the Clover App Market, and for existing BentoBox customers.
AIOrders is not a POS. It adds commission-free direct ordering, AI SEO, review automation and win-backs on top of Toast or Clover; Order Hub lists both among the POS systems it syncs into.
Next step: plug your monthly delivery sales into the calculator and compare the result with a flat monthly fee (see pricing).
Clover publishes all-in bundle prices and card rates; Toast publishes starting software prices but quotes processing. Compare total cost over the full term.
Clover's restaurant plans are priced over 36 months, and its $450 hardware statement-credit offer requires a 3-year contract.
Clover: 2.3% + 10¢ in person, 3.5% + 10¢ typed in. Square US Free: 2.6% + 15¢ in person, 3.3% + 30¢ online.
AIOrders: a flat-monthly plan with 0% order fees (see pricing; the entry plan adds a per-order fee).
