If your restaurant takes orders through GloriaFood, the clock is running. GloriaFood's own homepage now says: "GloriaFood will reach end of life on April 30, 2027. We remain committed to supporting existing customers through this date." (gloriafood.com, as of Oct 2026). The same notice says Oracle "does not offer a direct replacement," and points customers to a third-party provider.
That gives you a few months, not a few years. This guide walks through what the shutdown means, what to look for in a GloriaFood alternative, and a migration plan you can finish in an afternoon. It's written for independent restaurants in both Canada and the USA.
GloriaFood was popular because the core ordering widget was free. Its homepage still promises "free unlimited orders with zero costs" (gloriafood.com, as of Oct 2026). After April 30, 2027, that widget stops working. In practice that means:
The restaurants that move early keep their direct customers. The ones that wait until spring 2027 will compete with thousands of other GloriaFood users for onboarding slots.
Don't just look for "another free widget." GloriaFood's free model is ending for a reason. Compare alternatives on these points:
Here's how some common alternatives price their plans, from pages we opened (as of Oct 2026):
| Platform | Published starting price | Per-order fees noted on the pricing page |
|---|---|---|
| AIOrders | Flat-monthly plan with 0% order fees; entry plan adds a per-order fee (see pricing) | 0% commission |
| ChowNow | Launch from $229/mo billed annually ($249 monthly) | 2.95% + $0.29 per transaction; $119–$499 setup fee |
| Menufy | $149/mo on an annual agreement, $179/mo month-to-month | "no per-order commissions" |
| Owner.com | Flexible $249/mo + 5% restaurant fee per order; Flat Rate $499/mo | Guests pay a 5% order support fee on both plans |

Log in to GloriaFood and save your menu (categories, items, modifiers, prices), opening hours, delivery zones and fees, and any customer list you're allowed to export. Take screenshots of your settings. Even if you can't export a file, a PDF of your menu is enough for the next step.
AIOrders has a free Menu Import tool. Its page says you can "drop in a PDF, photos of your printed menu, or a link to where it already lives," including an Uber Eats or DoorDash link, and "our AI reads it and hands back every category, dish, description and price." It also says "nothing is published, you review everything first" (aiorders.io/menu-import, as of Oct 2026). Check every price and modifier before you go live.
Put the new ordering page on your website, ideally at a path like yourrestaurant.com/order. AIOrders' online ordering page describes "direct ordering on the restaurant's own domain" with "zero commission fees" on its flat-monthly plan (aiorders.io/product/online-ordering, as of Oct 2026). Add pickup, delivery and your tax settings, then place a test order.
Make a list of everywhere the GloriaFood button lives: your website header, Facebook, Instagram bio, printed flyers and your Google Business Profile. On Google, open your profile, select Food ordering, add your new link and mark it Preferred for pickup and delivery (Google Business Profile Help, as of Oct 2026). Our guide to the Google "Order Online" button covers this in detail.
If you used QR codes on tables, reprint them so they point to the new menu. A QR code ordering setup can also show returning guests their favourites and loyalty points.
Send one email and one SMS to your customer list: "We've moved our online ordering. Same menu, same prices, new link." Add a table tent and a bag insert for a few weeks.
Keep GloriaFood live for a week while you compare orders. Once the new channel is taking orders cleanly, remove the old widget everywhere.
GloriaFood users are used to paying nothing, so the first instinct is to look for another free tool. Free plans usually make money another way: a per-order commission, payment-processing markup or paid add-ons. Read the fee table, not just the headline price.
A quick rule of thumb:
Run your own numbers in the online ordering cost calculator and read online ordering system cost: free vs flat-fee vs per-order.
Who might prefer something else? If you only need a basic ordering button and get very few orders, a per-order plan may cost less in the short term. Compare honestly with our Toast alternative and ChowNow alternative pages.
About AIOrders: a commission-free online ordering and restaurant marketing platform based in Vancouver, BC, serving restaurants in Canada and the USA. Pricing: a flat-monthly plan with 0% order fees, or a lower-cost entry plan with a per-order fee.
GloriaFood's homepage says it "will reach end of life on April 30, 2027" and that Oracle will support existing customers through that date (gloriafood.com, as of Oct 2026).
Some platforms offer free plans that charge per order instead of monthly. Compare them with flat-fee plans, such as AIOrders' flat-monthly plan with 0% order fees, at your real order volume.
Most restaurants can import a menu, set up ordering and replace their links in an afternoon. Plan one week of running both systems before switching GloriaFood off.
Only if it still points to GloriaFood. In Google Business Profile, open Food ordering, add your new ordering link and set it as preferred for pickup and delivery.
AIOrders' free Menu Import tool reads a PDF, photos, a website or an Uber Eats/DoorDash link and returns categories, dishes, descriptions and prices for you to review before anything is published.
