Why FoodSwipe Asks to Connect Your Google Business Profile

This short video explains why FoodSwipe requires a connection to your Google Business Profile, what information is involved, and what the connection unlocks.

Watch on YouTube: Why Food Swipe Requires Your Google Business Profile Connection

It's public information only

Your Google Business Profile is the public listing shown on Google Search and Maps: name, address, hours, menu and reviews. There are no bank details, sales data or private business information in it. Connecting it to FoodSwipe does one thing: it verifies with Google that you own the listing.

The Order online button

Google shows an Order online button with a list of ordering providers. Uber Eats, DoorDash and SkipTheDishes appear there because each has a verified connection with your listing. Google requires the same verification from FoodSwipe. Once connected, your zero-commission FoodSwipe link sits alongside those apps so customers can order directly from you.

Dish-level search and AI

Customers increasingly search for specific dishes, and Google's AI answers with specific restaurants. FoodSwipe indexes every item on your menu and builds an optimized page for each dish. The Google connection is what links those pages to your physical location; without it, Google can't match your menu to your restaurant.

Finish onboarding

Log in to the portal and finish Step 2. The connection takes about 2 minutes.
