This guide shows how to receive and manage online orders and table bookings from your restaurant dashboard, from in-store setup to a simple daily routine.

Watch on YouTube: FoodSwipe- Managing Orders and Bookings

In-store setup

You'll need an internet-connected device in the restaurant. The video recommends a Windows laptop or tablet running Chrome or Firefox, placed where the person handling online orders can easily check and update them.

The orders page: board and list views

The orders page updates in real time. The icon beside each order shows whether it's pickup, delivery or dine-in, and its colour shows the current status.

Selecting an order opens its details, where you can change the status, modify the estimated ready time (which updates the customer's receipt), print, book delivery, refund or delete.

A daily routine on the board

  1. Confirm or cancel every new order in Unconfirmed.
  2. Prepare orders in Confirmed, due soon (due within 2 hours) from top to bottom.
  3. Keep an eye on Confirmed, upcoming (due in more than 2 hours).
  4. Move prepared orders to Ready.
  5. For deliveries, move to On route once the driver has it.
  6. Mark Complete when collected or delivered.

If an order will be late, use Modify estimated ready time so the customer knows. Every status update notifies the customer in real time.

Set up notifications

If online ordering is new for you, make sure all staff know orders can arrive at any time.

Table bookings

Bookings work the same way from the bookings page. Each new booking starts as unconfirmed; check you can accept it, then set it to confirmed or cancelled. The customer is notified either way.
